As a foodblogger and a photographer I love to experience food that are carefully prepared,

and made with love from the chefs. I also love fashion and international brands.

The trends for spring 2018 is that the collaboration with top chefs and designers are fully blossoming.

Together they find a look that is easy recognizable as the designers brand, and then the chefs prepare the food carefully.

This is a top trend in Beijing and Hong Kong. Beijing is listed as the billionaire capital of the world for the second year running, ahead of New York, and followed by Hong Kong and Shenzhen, according to the latest findings in the Hurun Global Rich List 2017.

At the same time, 15 percent of the billionaires were women. Among the 152 women who made the fortunes by themselves, Chinese led the way with 121. China is a country to look up for, they are leading the way for the rest of us.

Trends from this megacity Beijing is importen for us, and we can learn by their way to put food and fashion togheter.

I would love to see this at the large hotels in London or back in my hometown Oslo in Norway.

Afternoon tea by Vera Wang

At the legendary Waldorf Astoria Beijing they have waiting list for a table in Peacock Alley.

The desserts on offer with the afternoon tea set take inspiration from the fashion designer Vera Wang's red Katherine dress. Among the desserts are a handful of variations of the classic red velvet cake including lipstick NY red velvet cake, as well as mini raspberry macrons, raspberry chocolate truffle, and bride in red dress cookies drawing heavy inspiration from Vera Wang's gown designs.

​When we had afternoon tea at Peacock Alley it was not a empty chair to spot for hours. Beautiful Beijing-ladies with haute couture and designer shoes like Christian Loboutine, where seated at the tables nipping to tea and cakes. As in Europe, the ladies of Beijing takes pictures to post in social media.

This is the hot spot to be in Beijing on a Saturday after shopping.

The history behind Afternoon tea

Woburn Abbey is where Afternoon Tea was created. It was here during the late 1830's that Duchess Anna Maria, wife of the 7th Duke of Bedford, is said to have complained of "having that sinking feeling" during the late afternoon.

And so 'Afternoon Tea' taken privately in her boudoir was the solution until dinner at 8pm.
